My friend gave me a tape about 10 yrs ago with "The Davis Limited" on it...I recently thought about it and had to dig it out because I couldn't get the chorus bit out of my head...I started searching around the web and came across this post...excellent. I used to work at Subterranean in NY and remember you coming in a few times to pick up some stuff that Micheal had set aside for you. It was always great stuff and I would make a mental note of it...Later I came to find out that you owned my favorite bar in NYC, with my favorite Jukebox ever...where I once sat and saw Robert Randolph play what I believe was his first ever gig...and it was just me and about ten other folks in there in the back...man thanks a lot for that!

Take care,
TomTomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08907272377769226827noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3226924615283203864.post-2581138629116385112010-02-12T20:31:41.383-05:002010-02-12T20:31:41.383-05:00According to the Red Hot Jazz website, "I'...According to the Red Hot Jazz website, "I'm A Ding Dong Daddy From Dumas" was recorded as far back as August 1928 (Brunswick 4051) by one Jay C. Colin Escott wrote the first book about Sun Records way back when (early 70's), and was behind the 70's Charley re-issues that saw the entire Sun catalog issued for the first time, a huge influence on the entire world, there's so many great songs we'd have never heard if it wasn't for his groundbreaking work. I don't like Broadway musicals much but I know they make a lot of money for the folks involved and I hope Escott makes a bundle on his.The Houndhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06328225246284521960noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3226924615283203864.post-30870151256492237142010-02-09T08:55:53.937-05:002010-02-09T08:55:53.937-05:00Joe - a friend of mine made a great film about Ver...Joe - a friend of mine made a great film about Vernon Oxford sometime in the late '80s/early '90s, called Power in the Blood.
