Good call on the other solos, too, although I prefer Hollimon's work on "I Don't Believe" to "It's My Life, Baby." Take a listen and see what you think.

tom hAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3226924615283203864.post-20405222848700595892009-04-10T16:02:00.000-04:002009-04-10T16:02:00.000-04:00totally agree, re: "The Things I Used To Do" AND "...totally agree, re: "The Things I Used To Do"
AND "The Story Of My Life"

wish I'd been born two decades earlier so
I coulda seen the great man in action.

great post, as per usual!!Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00388078578850426153noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3226924615283203864.post-9325664161505245922009-04-10T15:59:00.000-04:002009-04-10T15:59:00.000-04:00"Well,I done got over it"is equally cool."Well,I done got over it"is equally cool.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3226924615283203864.post-31521484245235755862009-04-10T15:54:00.000-04:002009-04-10T15:54:00.000-04:00Great post,"the things that I used to do" is spinn...Great post,"the things that I used to do" is spinning as I'm writing this,GREAT RECORD.
JeffAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3226924615283203864.post-84416306047768760462009-04-10T14:40:00.000-04:002009-04-10T14:40:00.000-04:00Yes, please blogerate about Gatemouth's Peacock si...Yes, please blogerate about Gatemouth's Peacock sides sometime!jumpynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3226924615283203864.post-55066157097640982442009-04-10T09:38:00.000-04:002009-04-10T09:38:00.000-04:00Great post. I always read about these performers who loved working their audience (Slim, Wynonie Harris et al) and wish I'd been lucky enough to have seen something like that. Oh well, I got to see the Treniers in Atlantic City playing to the elderly for a two-drink cover. They were stunningly great even then.Paulhttp://www.screenworks.ienoreply@blogger.com
