Gillian's Found Photo #10
Here's a happy little sepia toned honey. By the looks of her boots (and the way she holds her cigarette) she may be the mother of the girls in GFP #5. I don't know what kind of uniform that is she's wearing but it ain't the Campfire Girls. Year and place are unknown (anyone want to guess?), and just why is she smiling?

Looks like a Soviet chick from the World War II era. Perhaps an officer or even a member of the Josef Stalin Fan Club, Minsk division.
oh c'mon... that's not her uniform...it's her boyfriends, and the joke is that she's in drag.....[duh]...
it's a British officer's WWI uniform...don't ask me how i know, just take my word for it..
she used her own belt instead of his, maybe because it fit better? or possibly because his belt would have had a gun hanging on it?.....
that's why the regulation, diagonally run, shoulder strap is missing...it was part of the gun belt..
his gun belt..
"oh c'mon... that's not her uniform...it's her boyfriends, and the joke is that she's in drag."
I'm not so sure, it sure fits her good, look at how narrow the shoulders are...But she does look like a brit, I think you're right on the one.
It does fit well... maybe during the war women could serve in a capacity involving uniforms but no gun. Wonder what's in her pocket?
"I'm not so sure, it sure fits her good, look at how narrow the shoulders are..."
On the whole, people were much smaller in those days....imagine for a moment that it is a man's uniform...that would make her a big woman for the time...
The first real incidences of females wearing pants came during WWI, but only in cases where we had to take over factory jobs for men, and it was much criticized at the time....
Here's a picture showing the uniform of the British Women's Ambulance Reserve Corps during WWI....this was the only way for a woman to see service other than as a nurse...they are delivering milk to the 'home front'..

If you compare the two photo's, i think you'll see just how outrageous your pic actually is...
The companion piece, if it were ever shot, would have been of the boyfriend/brother/husband, wearing her dress...
oops, link didn't work...

worlds first gender bender nazi...
man lady thing it....
plus she's dead.
There's no way it's a British uniform. Maybe German or Austrian.
